A KLM flight between Glasgow Airport and Amsterdam was evacuated earlier today when a pharma package in the cargo hold was found to be leaking.

In a statement, the airline said that a shipment packed in dry ice and containing vaccines in glass tubes began to leak coolant.

The leak affected the dry ice packages but the vaccine remained intact.

As a precaution, passengers were taken off the aircraft (flight number KL1473) and an exclusion zone was put in place.

Later in the day the situation was declared safe by the fire brigade.
